Silk is a delicate and sensitive material that needs a little extra care, but that doesn't mean it's difficult to take care of. Our silk scrunchies and silk pillowcases should, of course, be washed. Here are some things to keep in mind!
How to wash silk
A silk pillowcase does not need to be washed as often as a "regular" pillowcase because it does not attract dust, dust mites, or fungal particles. Silk contains natural fats that you don't want to break down when washing.
- Preferably use an enzyme-free detergent specifically for silk (available at most places that sell detergent)
- Wash at a maximum of 30 degrees, whether you wash by hand or in a machine
- If washing in a washing machine, use the delicate cycle and place the silk pillowcase in a laundry bag
- Never tumble dry a silk pillowcase; let it air dry
- Wash the silk pillowcase separately or with similar colors to better preserve its color

The silk scrunchies can also be washed clean of sweat, dirt, and product residues. Place them in a laundry bag and wash them with similar colors at a maximum of 30 degrees.
