Tahira Musić

We spent a day with Tahira Music in Stockholm, from morning coffee to her professional life. Here, she shares insights into her daily life as a creative multi-hyphenate, her hair inspiration, and her favorite spots in the city.

Tell me a little about yourself

I would probably call myself a creative multi-tasker. My entire career has been in fashion, but on the e-commerce side, and e-commerce is a fast-moving industry, so you have to keep up and constantly think about how everything impacts the customer experience and sales. That makes you quite entrepreneurial by default.

Recently, I changed industries to skincare, and it has been incredibly inspiring and fun to land in something new that is stimulating in a completely different way than before. In my free time, I love to create content, though now on a slightly smaller scale to fit alongside work, family, and the new great love of my life, my son Lowe.

For me, it's important that what I do feels genuine and has a clear sentiment behind it.

What does a perfect morning look like for you?

My partner and I wake up with Lowe and his enormous morning smile. We all have breakfast together, and if it's a weekday, my partner takes our son so I can drink my coffee and get ready in peace before it's time to head to work.

If it's the weekend, we often have a really long breakfast with the whole family, even though my two stepdaughters are teenagers, so they naturally prioritize sleeping in over me and the eggs.

How would you describe your hair?

I love my hair, and especially my hair color. I was blonde for a while but always longed to go back to brown.

I think short hair suits me best, and that's also when I'm most creative with hairstyles and hair accessories.

What are you proud of right now?

That I've found peace and balance in my family life. Before, I used to juggle a thousand things at once. I was a DJ, a model, constantly updating social media, super social, and had a full-time job.

Family life is just as full now, but I feel balanced in a way I never have before. The focus is on work, family, recovery, and having fun and being cozy in between. It feels absolutely wonderful.

What inspires you most at the moment?

We've just moved to somewhere bigger, so I'm mostly on Pinterest looking for interior design ideas.

I'm really trying to get furniture and art that will last, in other words, the complete opposite of my twenty-year-old self who bought things for one season.

What are your go-to or favorite hairstyles/styling?

I love slightly blow-dried hair that still looks unstyled, as if I just woke up that way, with a middle part.

Otherwise, I like to put my hair up in a claw clip or a barrette. The goal is to look a bit French: casual and effortless, yet with a hint of sensuality.

Favorite place in your city?

Hornstull, definitely! I lived there for a very long time and just moved away, but I was lucky that my new job is also in Hornstull, so we're apparently not quite done with each other yet.

What's one thing most people don't know about you?

People who don't know me often think I work with music when they see my name, as it's spelled exactly like "music" in Swedish and English.

However, in Bosnia, where we come from, it's spelled Musić, and is a very common Bosnian surname. A bit of an anticlimax for anyone who hoped for a secret DJ career, haha.

What does a perfect evening look like?

We actually had one such evening recently. My partner and I had accidentally invited our respective groups of friends over at the same time, the bonus daughters were home, and the entire apartment was filled with laughter and conversation.

Clichéd perhaps, but there's nothing that makes me as happy as family and friends around me, and my wonderful dog Solo, of course.
